About Tautua Mana Support Services
Tautua Mana Support Services is built on a simple belief: every person deserves to feel safe, valued, respected and understood.
It is important to bring together practical support, a strong focus on safety and compassionate, person-centred care to support individuals with complex needs.
This approach recognises that everyone has their own story, challenges, strengths and goals, and that meaningful support begins with understanding the person behind the needs.
Our Journey
Founded in 2018 by husband and wife Antonio Matafeo and Moana Solia-Matafeo, our journey began with frontline security services across construction sites and hospitality venues in Wellington.
When COVID-19 changed the operating landscape, new opportunities emerged within the mental health and disability support sector.
Drawing on their practical experience, commitment to safety and desire to make a positive difference, Antonio and Moana expanded into support services, creating the foundation for Tautua Mana Support Services.
What began as a family-led business has grown through experience, relationships and a genuine commitment to the people and communities we support.
A Person Centred Approach
No two people are the same.
That's why our staff and leadership take the time to get to know each individual, understand their needs and preferences, and work alongside their whānau and community support networks.
Experience has taught that changes to familiar routines can be unsettling.
Building trust takes time, and our leadership believe support should develop at a pace that respects each person's comfort, confidence and individual circumstances.
Through consistent, compassionate support, our staff look for opportunities to strengthen people's independence, encourage confidence and introduce meaningful experiences that align with each person's interests and goals.
Built on Family Values
At the heart of Tautua Mana is family.
Antonio and Moana's leadership is grounded in the values of trust, loyalty, respect and genuine care.
These values shape the way they work with individuals, whānau and the wider support community.
They believe that people deserve to feel heard, included and valued in decisions about their lives.
By building genuine relationships and working together, our staff aim to create a supportive environment where individuals can grow in confidence, maintain their dignity and work towards living a good life.
Through culturally grounded, compassionate care, we walk alongside individuals and families, helping them feel empowered, supported and confident every step of the way.
Because every person deserves to feel safe, valued and understood.
