Services

Providing coordinated, compassionate care that helps people feel safe, supported, independent and empowered to achieve their goals.

Care, Connection and Support

Tautua Mana Support Services provides personalised support across mental health, physical disabilities, vulnerable people and minors, and personal care.

Working closely with individuals, their families, whānau, counsellors, clinical teams, support providers, accredited organisations, funders and agencies is crucial to developing individualised support plans or contributing to existing plans.

Just as important is ensuring that each person's needs, goals, preferences and circumstances are at the centre of their support.

We understand that change can be unsettling, particularly when familiar routines are important.

Support Staff take the time to build trust, get to know each person and work at a pace that feels comfortable for them.

As relationships develop, these staff look for opportunities to gradually introduce new activities and experiences that align with their interests, build confidence and encourage independence.

Every approach is grounded in dignity, compassion and respect; we want every person to feel safe, valued and supported, while working towards their individual goals and living a good life.

Providing Care and Support Services

Mental Health

Providing mental health support in the home, in the community, and in clinical settings, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, mental health wards, respite care, and medical wards.

Supporting people with a wide range of complex needs, including behavioural dysregulation, autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma-related responses, and other mental health challenges.

The service is built around trust, consistency, and calm, relationship-based support.

Helping clients transition into care, attend appointments to provide support, manage routines, and develop practical structures that reduce anxiety and behavioural escalation.

The team uses positive communication strategies to build confidence, a sense of belonging, and stability over time.

Physical Disabilities

Providing practical, compassionate support for people with physical disabilities and complex health needs, including clients who are wheelchair-bound, bed-bound, non-verbal, or experiencing conditions such as seizures, lymphedema, or significant mobility challenges.

Support may be provided at home, in hospital, in the community, through 24/7 wrap-around care, or while clients are travelling.

Assisting with safe transfers, mobility, feeding, washing, dressing, toileting, overnight support, and with daily routines.

Our team understands that physical support is also about dignity, comfort, and connection, so they take time to understand each person’s interests, preferences, and communication style.

Vulnerable People and Minors

We work with vulnerable people and minors who may have behavioural challenges, mental health concerns, trauma histories, intellectual disability, or disrupted family experiences.

Working with many diverse young people referred by a variety of provider organisations and families with access to individualised funding, both of whom need stable, structured support after placement or service breakdowns.

The team provides a safe, caring environment that fosters a sense of belonging while maintaining clear, appropriate boundaries.

We are not there to replace parents or whānau, but to provide consistent support that helps young people build trust, routines, and confidence.

We also work with vulnerable adults in complex settings, including forensic environments, using calm, trauma-informed, relationship-based support focused on safety, dignity, and positive behaviour change.

Personal Care

Providing personal care in clinical settings, homes, and the community.

This includes support with washing, dressing, toileting, feeding, grooming, bedside assistance, mobility, medication support, and maintaining daily routines.

Our team delivers personal care with patience, respect, and sensitivity, recognising that these supports can be a vulnerable experience for some clients.

Focusing on preserving dignity, promoting independence wherever possible, and ensuring care is safe, consistent, and aligned with each person’s individual needs and wider support goals.

Personal care is provided within the scope of our staff training and competencies, with more complex care tasks (listed in ‘Awards and Credentials’) requiring appropriate oversight from members of our team.
